Axe Throwing Rules

Rules for Axe Throwing

All Participants

  • You must be at least 12 years old. If participant is under the age of 18 they must be accompanied by parent or guardian who MUST also be a participant.
  • Must sign a waiver and attend a safety briefing.
  • Read and understand all rules and instructions.
  • Get specific training on how to participate and the use of axes.
  • Have closed toe shoes.
  • Understand and accept the risks involved.

Lane Rules

  • Only one thrower per target is allowed inside the fenced Axe Throwing Arena.
  • You may only throw one axe at a time.
  • You may not be in the Axe Throwing Area without an Axe Throwing Coach being present.
  • Do not hand an axe to another participant.  Put axe in designated axe holder and retrieve axe from designated axe holder.
  • You must grip the axes by the handle only.
  • Before leaving, axes must be placed in axe holder.
  • You must not do anything that may distract you or others while engaged in the activity.

Axe Throwing Coach

  • Must be present at all times within the Axe Throwing Area.
  • May not allow you to participate if they perceive you are impaired or for any reason not able to safely throw axes.
  • May ask you to leave, without refunding your admission fee, if you are not complying with Safety Rules, perceives you are in danger to yourself or others, or not obeying their instructions.

Observers / Spectators

  • May NOT enter the designated axe throwing area.

 

Climbing Rules

To Climb in the Park, You Must Adhere to the Following:

  • Be at least 5 years old and capable of performing specific safety related tasks independently.
  • 5-6 year olds must be accompanied by an adult at a 1 adult to 2 children max ratio and may climb on only Purple trails in The Aerial Forest Park.
  • Weigh no more than 265 lbs.
  • Minors must have supervision by parent or guardian while climbing at the Park.
  • Read and understand all instructions.
  • Get specific training in using all safety and permanently installed equipment in the park.
  • Understand and accept the risks involved.
  • The Park strongly recommends that participants start with a yellow or green course.
  • The management reserves the right to remove from The Park anyone who does not follow these rules or otherwise is a danger to themselves or others.

Registration & Acknowledgement of Risk Agreement

Every climber must have a signed waiver. For those under the age of 18, parents or legal guardians must complete the Waiver Agreement on behalf of the minor. PLEASE, prior to your visit, use the waiver link in your reservation confirmation email and complete your waiver(s).

Age Requirements and Recommendations for Courses

Our trails are rated at six different levels of challenge, with age requirements (as noted) and/or recommendations for each level.

“Supervised”: Adult (18+) observe, guide, direct and watch over climbers

“With Adult”: Adult (18+) must accompany children (ages 7 and up) on courses — maximum of two children per adult.

Ages 5-6: Must have an adult (18+) climb with them (max 2 children per adult) and may climb on our Purple courses only.  This is a requirement.

While Using the Park:

  • Use all equipment safely and as directed by Park Staff and posted signs.
  • Always have at least one carabiner (clip) attached to a designated lifeline.
  • If you removed your harness, have a Staff member check it before climbing.
  • Only one person at a time is allowed on an element.
  • No more than 3 people at a time are allowed on a platform.
  • Never switch from one course to another.
  • Never be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Do not carry phones, cameras or any other objects that my fall.
  • Do not use any course if you have loose hair, clothing or other objects that may get caught in clips, pulleys and other mechanical devices. Closed toe shoes required.
  • No smoking in The Park.
  • Carry out all objects you bring into The Park, including trash.
  • When in doubt, ask Park Staff.
  • Obey instructions given by Park Staff.
  • Observe and follow instructions on all posted signs.
  • Do not do anything that may distract you or others from paying close attention to equipment use and the course.
