What are group ticket rates?
Is your group looking for family attractions in Connecticut? Group rates for The Adventure Park at The Discovery Museum are available for groups of 10 or more with an advance reservation.
For more information or to book a group, please call our office at 203-690-1717 or fill out our Group Reservation form. Please note: Group rates require advance reservations. These are filled on a first-come first-served basis.
Group reservations are confirmed by receipt of a minimum deposit at the time of booking. The deposit is non-refundable. Full payment is due two weeks in advance of the reservation.
What are the group booking and payment terms? What happens if I book too many or too few tickets?
- Group reservations are confirmed by receipt of a minimum deposit at the time of booking. The deposit is non-refundable.
- All group reservation changes and payments should be made by the designated group organizer listed on the reservation.
- Final headcount and final payment are due two weeks before your scheduled visit. Once the final headcount has been provided at 14 days, any additional participants will be added at the General Admission rate.
- Group size changes within 14 days:
- If you have less participants than you were scheduled, a credit will be given for a maximum of 10% of your total booking. For instance: If you paid for 50 participants and you have 40 participants, an Adventure Park Account Credit will be offered for 10% (the value of 5 tickets) which can be used at a future date.
- If you have more participants than your original reservation, those participants will pay the General Admission based on harness availability.
What is the group cancellation policy? Do you offer refunds?
Cancellation policy:
- Although we are not able to offer refunds, Group reservations canceled within 14 days of visit date will receive an Adventure Park Account Credit of the payment amount, but no refunds will be given. Please call us at 475-988-0988 to cancel your reservation ahead of your scheduled start time and we will send you an email with an Adventure Park Account Credit to use for a future climb.
- “No shows” or cancellations after the scheduled visit date are not eligible for Adventure Park Account Credits or rainchecks.
What is the weather policy?
The Park is open rain or shine, but in the event of severe weather conditions, including thunderstorms, threat of lightning or high winds, the Park may not be able to operate.
- If you have not started climbing, you are welcome to postpone your visit by calling us or completing this form prior to your scheduled climb time. We will send you an email with an Adventure Park Account Credit to use for a future climb. The amount will be equal to the full payment on your reservation.
- Although we are unable to offer refunds, in the event of any course or Park closures after you have started to climb, your time may be extended if times are available that day, or a raincheck will be made available for you to use for future climbs that season.
- Adventure Park Account Credits or Rainchecks are not available for “no shows” or canceling after your scheduled time.
Do we need chaperones?
Yes we recommend you have a 10:1 ratio of participants to chaperones for those groups with participants under 18 years of age. These chaperones organize and supervise the group, as well as assist during the safety briefing, harnessing and practice lines to move your group through as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Is my group outing exclusive?
Group reservations are not exclusive, and you should expect there will be others at the park. We do offer exclusive park rentals for a fee, and these are typically reserved well in advance.
Is a waiver required?
Yes, The Adventure Park utilizes electronic waivers. View the video below for instructions on completing and managing waivers.
- You will receive a link to complete your waivers in your Order Receipt once booked.
- All group members should sign their waivers ahead of time to save time at check in.
- Children under 18 must have a waiver completed by a parent/guardian. Please ensure that this is done ahead of your outing, as children without waivers will not be able to climb.
- As the group leader, you are responsible for collecting waivers and will also need to assign waivers to a ticket once completed. You are also responsible for providing a roster of participants upon check in at the Park.
- Failure to have waivers completed and assigned prior to arrival may slow your group’s entry into the Park and reduce your climb time.
- Failure to provide a roster of participants may delay the processing of any Account Credit resulting from a reduction in group size (per the Group Payment and Terms).
Can I arrive any time on the day of my event?
It is imperative you arrive and are checked in at your scheduled start time. Groups arriving late may need to wait for other groups to be processed or could be turned away due to availability or Park hours of operation. If you are running late, your climb time will still end as scheduled.
Do you have corporate or team-building events?
The Adventure Park is a great venue for a corporate outing or team-bonding event. Climbing in the Park is a fun way to interact with co-workers outside of the normal office setting. It is a self-guided experience that people enjoy experiencing with others, building empathy, enhancing cooperation, communication, and group cohesion.
What are the group leader's responsibilities?
As the group leader, we ask that you:
- Provide us the names of anyone other than yourself who will be in charge of the event
- Be sure your deposit is paid on time to secure your groups spot on our calendar
- Give us your final headcount and pay your balance on or before two weeks to your event date
- Make sure all waivers are completed and assigned 48 hours prior to your arrival at the park
- Communicate with us if you need to postpone, reschedule or cancel your outing prior to your start time
Do you accept purchase orders?

Paying with a Purchase Order: A purchase order is a legal instrument and is a legally binding agreement. The Adventure Park accepts purchase orders for the full amount of the group outing. Please contact us for our purchase order terms and agreement.
