We love our team here at The Adventure Park. Get to know our Assistant Park Manager for The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium, Cathy Fox. We couldn’t do it without her!
What I love most about working at The Adventure Park:
I love that the park provides individuals an opportunity to disconnect from electronics and connect as a family or better connect as friends or co-workers. And I love listening to our climbers as they are finished with their climb to hear about their experiences and the goals they have accomplished and the fears they have overcome.
My Background:
I have been with The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium since 2014 when our Park opened. I am an Outdoor Recreation major and have worked in the outdoor industry for 14 years. Prior to coming to the Adventure Park, I worked for the Challenge Works, a Virginia Beach City Public Schools program that offered facilitation programs for middle and high school students and staff.
My Favorite Course:
My favorite course is Forrest Run. This was the first course I climbed when the park opened and has been my favorite ever since!

How I connect to our mission of promoting active enjoyment in the outdoors: The park provides an opportunity for people to unplug and spend time with family and friends in nature, climbing trees & having fun while challenging themselves.
What I do when I am not at the Park: When not at the park I am spending time with my husband and three kids playing in the outdoors. We love going to the beach, swimming at the pool, riding our bikes or hiking at First Landing State Park.
A Favorite Moment: My favorite park moment is when my daughter turned five and was finally able to climb at the Park. I waiting three years for that moment and I loved climbing with her as she fearlessly took on the purple courses.
