- You may arrive 10-15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time to set up any birthday party items, or you can set up while your climbers are completing their safety briefing and harnessing.
- Enjoy the picnic area while you are there and up to 30 minutes after your climb time for snacks and cake!
- Tailor your birthday adventure with our optional add-ons, including private group areas, private guides, and goodie bags for your guests.

How much is the birthday party package?

Is the birthday guest of honor included in the 6 people?
Yes, the birthday package includes 6 total tickets, 1 for the guest of honor plus 5 guests. Additional tickets are available for purchase.
How long is the activity?
Please allow 30 minutes for the safety briefing and 2 hours for climb time with our birthday packages. You will also have an additional 30 minutes at your reserved picnic table, for a total of 3 hours at the Park.
Does a staff member climb with our party? Do I need a guide?
While our staff is on hand for assistance, our adventure park is a self-guided experience with trails that are intentionally designed for exploration and self-discovery. Trained staff will be available to assist with any questions or concerns during the climb. If you prefer a more structured experience, we have a limited number of guides for hire. You are welcome to hire a guide with advance reservations.
We have a party of kids. Do adults need to climb with them?
For ages 5-6, children must be accompanied by an adult at a 1 adult (or guide) to 2 children ratio and may only climb on Purple trails.
For ages 7 to 9 years old, we recommend an adult or a guide to climb with the party for the best experience.
Do I have to pay for adults to climb?
Any climbing adults or children will need a paid ticket as part of the birthday party package.
Do I have to pay for party attendees that are not climbing?
There is no charge for non-climbing participants. Spectators are welcome to come and join the celebration at no additional cost.
Are gloves provided?
We HIGHLY recommend that you wear protective gloves when climbing at the Park. You are welcome to bring your own protective gloves or you may purchase online or from our retail store. Sizes and availability may vary.
Examples of protective gloves include work gloves, garden gloves and bike gloves. Leather-palmed ones are ideal, but any protective gloves are permitted.
What are the Goodie Bags and what do they contain?
Goodie bags are available for purchase and can be ordered by contacting us AHEAD of your event date or adding to your cart when booking your party online. Each bag contains an Adventure Park Carabiner keychain and other fun items for your guests!
How early should I arrive?
You may arrive up to 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time to set up your party area and check in your participants. Please ensure that all waivers are completed and assigned in advance of arrival to avoid a delay at check in. After check in, you will be escorted to your reserved picnic table.
Are all of the activities outside?
Yes, we are a fully outdoor activity, and our picnic tables are outdoors as well.
Is there a party room?
We have reserved picnic tables available with the birthday party packages. These are all outdoors.
What happens if it rains?
The Adventure Park can still be fun while it is raining. However, the Park will close for severe weather such as heavy rain, thunderstorms, and high winds. If small storm systems are moving through the area, we try to stay open and ask our guests to take a break while they pass. Call before you travel to confirm the operating schedule. If you would like to reschedule your party due to weather, please contact us at 757-385-4947.
Can I decorate the table?
You are more than welcome to decorate your table for your birthday celebration. Make your celebration festive for the guest of honor & your guests. Please note that we are a balloon-free zone due to Virginia Aquarium regulations. For the well-being of our wildlife and the cleanliness of the Park, confetti of any kind is not permitted.
Do you provide tablecloths, cups and paper goods?
We do not provide these items. You will need to bring any decorations or other party items with you.

Can I bring my own popup tent and foldable chairs?
You are welcome to bring a small fold up table and chairs, as well as a small canopy if you would like.
Do you have a freezer or refrigerator for the cake?
You are more than welcome to bring in a cooler or picnic basket for your celebration. However, we can not provide a freezer, refrigerator or storage.
What time should I order the food?
You can have your food delivered anytime after check in but remember that your event ends after three hours. Click here for food options.
