Looking for fun things to do in spring? Outdoor spring activities mean only one thing here at The Adventure Park – fresh air, blossoming forestry, warmer weather and the anticipated return of excited springtime climbers. We love seeing new and returning faces arrive, ready to take on our tree-top challenges!
Now that the weather is back on our side, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of ziplining through our green trees with the spring sun beaming down – everything’s always better in spring, right? It’s smiles and laughter all-round here at The Adventure Park!
So with summer just around the corner, we have some tips and tricks for your outdoor spring activities. If you’re looking for fun things to do in spring, just make sure you’re prepared – no matter the weather. Here’s what you need to know about a spring day at The Adventure Park.
Be Prepared
If you’re a first-timer or even if you’ve been to a Park multiple times, read our ultimate checklist guide. This guide is full of information to help you be prepared for your visit, so you can enjoy your day without worry.
Check the Weather
Spring weather is unpredictable, so make sure you’re prepared come rain or shine. A dry sunny day is preferable, but this isn’t always the case. Check the local weather before you head to one of our locations, and bring everything you need. We don’t want you to forget the essentials.
Occasionally we may need to close the Park due to weather conditions. But don’t worry – we have a flexible cancellation policy if the unforeseen weather does spoil the party. You can choose to postpone your climb and “bank” the payment for a later day.
Bring the Appropriate Type of Clothing
With spring’s shifting weather patterns, we recommend wearing layers that can be easily taken on and off. If it’s wet and chilly, you’ll want something to keep you warm. Likewise, if the weather heats up, it’s good to have the option of taking something off to cool down.
Choose a wind/waterproof jacket and preferably jeans/pants with zipped pockets – that way you can secure any loose belongings and keep them safe from falling (hat, keys, cellphone, wallet, etc.). We also don’t recommend wearing a scarf or anything loose because they can get caught up in the equipment.
If you’re still unsure about what to wear, check out our full clothing guide for climbing. It has everything you need to know.
Don’t Forget Gloves
If you want an extra-comfortable climb, we recommend bringing protective gloves – work gloves, bike gloves or garden gloves will do just fine. Gloves will keep your hands warm and make it easier to grip hold of the ropes.
We’re currently not providing any community gloves, so we encourage you to bring your own or buy some from our Park Store.
Always Wear Closed-Toe Shoes
No matter the spring weather, closed-toe shoes are an absolute must. The physical nature of the climb and our park terrain means you’ll want sturdy footwear – boots or sneakers will do the job nicely.
Remember the Sunblock
With the sun beginning to shine, fun spring activities require sun protection. You’ll be in the sunshine for a few hours, so make sure you and the rest of your group are lathered up nicely with sunblock before you take to the skies.
The canopy of the trees will provide some shade, but the sun will still shine through, especially when you’re up high on the trails.
Pace Yourself
The warmer weather of spring activities means you should pace yourself on our climbing trails. You’ll have a lot of fun, but remember the trails are a physical challenge! Slow down and know your limits – there’s no rush. Take your time and put your safety first. A vigilant team member will always be below ready to help.
Stay Extra Hydrated
Make sure you’re extra-hydrated before you start your trail. The spring weather means you’ll be using a lot of energy on our zipline and climbing trails, so stay hydrated to avoid fatigue and muscle cramps. We have hydration stations dotted around all of our parks.
Bring a Snack
Your body needs the fuel to conquer our zipline and ropes course. You’ll be burning a lot of calories as you make your way through the various treetop challenges, so make sure you’ve had a hearty breakfast and pack an energy-boosting snack to eat on the go (cereal bars, sandwiches and fruit are ideal).
We also have picnic benches for you to sit down and unwind once your feet touch back on the ground. A delicious and nutritious post-climb meal will be a great reward!
Don’t Forget to Have Fun!
The warmer weather is officially returning, so don’t forget to have fun. We’re excited for the springtime ahead here at The Adventure Park! It’s a season we particularly love here – when summer holidays are on the horizon and drier, sunnier days put even bigger smiles on our guests’ faces.
So if you’re looking for things to do in spring, now’s the time to venture outdoors and enjoy socializing with your fellow climbers again. Are you ready for an action-packed day? Don’t wait any longer. We can’t wait to welcome you!
